Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how jumpIN Pty Ltd, trading as jumpIN ("jumpIN", "we", "us" or "our"), collects, uses, holds, discloses and protects your personal information when you use our website, mobile applications and related services (together, the "Platform").

jumpIN is a marketplace that helps parents and carers discover and book individual kids' classes and activities near them, with the flexibility to book a single session, a bundle or a membership, without committing to a full term. On the other side of the platform, we help local studios and activity providers fill empty spots and reach more families. Protecting the personal information of families, and of the children whose activities are booked through the Platform, is central to how we operate.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of your personal information as described in this Policy.

A note on children: jumpIN is a service designed for parents and carers to use on behalf of children. We do not intend for children to create their own accounts or use the Platform unsupervised. Information about a child should only ever be entered by a parent or carer who has authority to provide it. See Section 9 for more detail.

1. About this Policy

This Policy applies to everyone who interacts with the Platform, including:

  • Waitlist members who sign up before launch to hear about jumpIN and help shape the classes we launch;
  • Parents and carers who browse, create an account, or book activities;
  • Activity providers and studios (the small businesses, instructors and organisations) who join our provider waitlist or list and manage classes on the Platform; and
  • Visitors who use the Platform without creating an account.

It does not apply to the privacy practices of activity providers, payment processors or other third parties who operate their own services. Where a provider collects information directly from you, that provider's own privacy policy will govern how they handle it.

2. The personal information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you use the Platform. We only collect information that is reasonably necessary for our functions and activities.

2.1 Waitlist information (before we launch)

While jumpIN is pre-launch, we collect information through our waitlist form so we can plan the right classes in the right areas and let you know when we go live. This includes your name, email address, suburb, the classes and activities your family is interested in, how often you would book, and your feedback about booking kids' classes. If you run a studio, we may also collect your business name and contact details so we can talk to you about listing on jumpIN.

We use waitlist information to shape our launch, to contact you about jumpIN's availability, and, unless you tell us not to, to send you updates and offers about the service. You can ask us to remove you from the waitlist and delete your information at any time using the contact details in Section 13.

2.2 Information you provide to us when using the Platform

  • Account and contact details: name, email address, phone number, postal or suburb location, and a password.
  • Child activity details: the first name (or nickname), age or age range, and any relevant activity preferences or needs of the child an activity is booked for. We ask you to share only what a provider genuinely needs to run the class safely.
  • Booking information: the classes you view, book, reschedule or cancel, attendance, and related communications.
  • Payment information: billing details processed securely through our third-party payment provider. We do not store full card numbers on our own systems.
  • Provider information: for activity providers, business name, ABN, contact details, banking details for payouts, class listings, insurance or accreditation details, and any verification documents we request.
  • Communications: messages, reviews, feedback, survey responses and support enquiries you send us.

2.3 Information we collect automatically

  • Device and usage data: IP address, device and browser type, operating system, the pages and listings you view, and how you navigate the Platform.
  • Location data: approximate location (for example, derived from your IP address or, with your permission, your device) so we can show classes near you.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 7.

2.4 Information from third parties

We may receive information about you from social or single sign-on login providers (if you choose to sign in that way), from activity providers in relation to a booking, from analytics and marketing partners, and from payment or fraud-prevention services.

2.5 Sensitive information

Some activities may require limited sensitive information, such as a child's medical, allergy, dietary or accessibility needs that a provider must know to keep the child safe. We only collect sensitive information with consent and only where it is reasonably necessary. We ask you not to provide sensitive information unless a booking genuinely requires it.

3. How we use personal information

We use personal information to operate jumpIN and to deliver the service you expect, including to:

  • Create and manage your account and verify your identity;
  • Help you discover, compare and book individual classes that suit your family;
  • Process bookings, payments, refunds and provider payouts;
  • Pass the necessary booking and child details to the relevant activity provider so they can run the class;
  • Send booking confirmations, reminders, changes and other service messages;
  • Help providers manage attendance and fill available spaces;
  • Provide customer support and respond to your enquiries;
  • Improve, personalise and secure the Platform, including through analytics;
  • Detect, prevent and address fraud, misuse and safety issues;
  • Send marketing communications where you have not opted out (see Section 4); and
  • Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.

4. Marketing and your choices

We may send you information about classes, features and offers we think you'll find useful. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, adjusting your notification settings, or contacting us using the details in Section 13. We will still send you essential service messages, such as booking confirmations, even if you opt out of marketing.

5. When we share personal information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the Platform, and only with parties who are required to protect it. We may disclose personal information to:

  • Activity providers: the booking and child details a provider needs to deliver and manage the class you book.
  • Service providers: trusted suppliers who help us operate, including payment processors, hosting and cloud infrastructure, analytics, communications, customer support and fraud-prevention tools.
  • Professional advisers: lawyers, accountants and auditors, where reasonably required.
  • Legal and safety recipients: regulators, law enforcement or others where we are required or permitted by law, or where disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of a child or any person.

6. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers (for example, cloud hosting, analytics or communications tools) may store or process personal information outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. Where we disclose information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

7. Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, understand how the Platform is used, and improve and market our service. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features of the Platform may not work properly if you disable them. Where required, we will request your consent for non-essential cookies.

8. How we keep information secure

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These include:

  • Encryption of data in transit and, where appropriate, at rest;
  • Access controls that limit who can view personal information, on a need-to-know basis;
  • Secure, reputable hosting and payment infrastructure;
  • Staff and contractor confidentiality obligations; and
  • Ongoing review of our security practices.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to cause serious harm, we will respond in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, including notifying affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) where required.

9. Children's privacy

jumpIN is built for parents and carers, not for children to use directly. Accounts and bookings are intended to be created and managed by an adult with authority to act for the child. Information about a child is collected from the parent or carer making the booking, and is used only to arrange and deliver the activity, including sharing it with the relevant provider. We limit children's information to what is necessary for the activity and encourage you to share as little as possible.

We are committed to meeting our obligations under Australian privacy law as it applies to children, including the Children's Online Privacy Code being introduced under the Privacy Act. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without the involvement of a parent or carer, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

10. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out in this Policy, or as required by law (for example, to meet tax, financial or dispute-resolution obligations). When we no longer need it, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

11. Your rights and how to exercise them

You have rights in relation to the personal information we hold about you. You can:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correct information that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete;
  • Request deletion of your information where it is no longer necessary, where you withdraw consent, or where it was collected unlawfully;
  • Opt out of marketing at any time; and
  • Complain if you think we have mishandled your information (see Section 12).

To make a request, contact us using the details in Section 13. We may need to verify your identity first. We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with our legal obligations. There is no fee to make a request, though a reasonable charge may apply to certain access requests.

12. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer using the details in Section 13. We take complaints seriously and will aim to acknowledge your complaint promptly and resolve it fairly.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
